Ladies Night Christmas Shopping Market

I know that it has been quite some time since my last post, but I've been crazy busy over the last couple of weeks preparing and creating craft products to sell at my daughter's Ladies Night Christmas Shopping Market which was held on Friday, 15 November.  Once again it was a very successful night for me and I hope for the rest of the other stall holders that were there too.
I would like to send out some thanks to some of the crafters in blog land who were the inspiration for some of the products that I made, to name a few - Brenda Quintana (Advent Calendars, Christmas Trees and Santa Hats), Calla Lily Studio (Card-in-a-Box), DO Stamping (gift card holders) and many others.  Here are some pictures of what was available on my table.

Another NZSU Pic of the Week!

Mini Album Card

I'm not much of a scrappy person and the only thing remotely close to scrapbooking albums or pages I like is the quick and easy mini albums - preferably no bigger than the average card size!  So when I saw a version of this Mini Album Card on Kelly Gettlefinger's web page, I just had to make one!  The original idea was from Olivia Studley and Kelly received her mini album from Olivia as a Convention Swap!  Thanks to both Olivia and Kelly for sharing!  Love this project!



 

 

 

NZSU Pick of the Week Card Award!

Oh my goodness!  I've been awarded the NZSU Pick of the Week Card Award!  So what or who is NZSU - this stands for New Zealand Stampin' Up! blog.  On this blog page you will find many NZ Stampin' Up! demonstrators with links to their web pages.  This blog page is managed by the wonderful Callena Lewis.  Each week she will visit various NZ Stampin' Up! Demos websites and select projects to show case on the NZSU web page.  And this week my card was selected together with other demos' cards!  I'm just so stoked!!!

August Classes - posted today!

Here are the cards which we will make for the August Class.  The stamp sets used are Secret Garden and Blooming with Kindness - these stamp sets are so versatile and you can really create some amazing floral cards.  The Secret Garden stamp set also has matching framelit dies - so for those of you who find cutting out images tiresome, these framelits make it so much easier!  If you'd like to see the Secret Garden framelits in action, book your space at one of my classes!
Most of the card ideas which you see here are inspired by the many wonderful crafters out in cyberspace and I'd just like to shout out my thanks to these crafters for sharing their lovely creations.

Babuska Dolls Card

Tanya Bell, an Australian SU! Demo, created this lovely Babuska Dolls template and when I saw her card on her website, I just had to try making them!  These dolls are an ideal size to use with all those odd sized pieces of DSP that we loathe to throw away (well, I keep all the bits!).  If you'd like to try making these adorable 'dolls', visit Tanya's web page to purchase her template!

Odd one out!

Do you ever find sometimes there is just one or two sheets of DSP that you just don't know how to use or may be it just doesn't appeal to you?  Well I have!  Sometimes I end up with the odd DSP sheet and just can't seem to do anything with it.  Thanks to Kelly Gettelfinger of Always Stampin', I found the perfect solution to my problem!  Kelly shows a tutorial on how to make a twisted explosion mini album - this is the perfect project to use up my odd sheets of DSP!  So here is my Twisted Explosion Mini Album.

Wrapped Up Box Drawers

I saw this project some time ago on A Path of Paper site and just never got around to making one.  I finally decided to make one with the new DSP from SU! - Floral District.  This was actually quite a nice project to do especially if you have some odd cut up pieces of DSP.  These drawers can be used to hold small cards (which I made too) and some sweet mini chocolate bars.  The box stands at 6" high and 3" wide.  The mini cards are 2.5" square.

New Wood mount Boxes!

Introducing our new wood-mount stamp set packaging! These new cases are similar to our clear-mount boxes and fit perfectly on the shelf right next to them. They also have the images and stamp set name on the spine to make your search for the right set even easier.
Starting 1 July all wood-mount sets will come in this new packaging.  And empty cases will be available with the launch of the new catalogue. That means you can transfer all your old sets to these new boxes! There will even be a template for you to create your own label for your old stamp sets (available 1 July)!  This will be just awesome, especially for those of us who like uniformity on our shelfs when it comes to our SU! stamps!

Colour Refresh!

Two New Announcements!

Today is the launch of Online Shopping for our NZ Demos and their customers!  This means that now you are able to shop online any time, any place and your order will be delivered straight to your door!  How AWESOME is that!

Here comes the Bride!

I was asked by one of my daughter's school Receptionists to make her a wedding card.  I intended only making one card - the one in Whisper White, but then I was on a roll and decided to make two more!  For the white dresses on both the pink cards, I used Non-Stampin' Up! cardstock which I've had for years - they were supposed to be used to make wedding invitations!  The cardstock actually has a scent on them.

These are a CASE from designs I saw on UStamp with Dawn and Friends - the tutorial and pdf files are available for purchase on the website.  I did not purchase the tutorials but from the pictures I managed to put together this set.  Aren't the bunnies cute!!!

Cards Galore!

I had my first SU! Workshop this past weekend!  It was such a lot of fun!  We played with some new SU! products and one of my guests who has never done any crafting or stamping had an absolute ball!
I have also been busy playing with my new 'toys' too!  Here are a few pictures of what I've made.  These projects are also my upcoming classes for March - see my Class Schedule for more details.

These are a Set of 3 Cards using the Papillon Potpourri Butterflies and matching punches (the card at the bottom was the Make & Take project for my workshop) and the All Dressed Up Framelits

This is a really WOW card - this was also made with just one sheet of 12" x 12" cardstock - I must say thanks goes to Kelly Gettelfinger of Always Stampin' - Thanks Kelly!

Mini Album in a Bag

I finally received my new SU! products and I've been having such fun playing with them!  I have also been preparing to host my first SU! Workshop this weekend!  Never done one before!  So I've also been busy getting all my things together for the workshop.  Looking forward to it too!  Just can't wait to introduce my friends to the awesomeness (is this a word?) of Stampin' Up!
One of the projects that I made to show case at the workshop is this Mini Album in a Bag - I'm not such a keen scrapbooker, especially those large 12" x 12" pages - I do take pictures but digital storage is about as far as it gets!  I prefer to make mini albums or interactive 'scrapbooks'.  This Mini Album in a Bag can be found on Kelly Gettelfinger's blog - Always Stampin' - thanks Kelly for sharing!

 



 

Block Card & Just For You

Here are two cards which I completed this weekend.  The first one is a Block Card which I saw on Calla Lily's blogspot.  There is a link on her blog to a YouTube Video by Papercraft45 showing you how to make this card.
The cardstock that I used are all Stampin' Up! some of which are retired - yes, I still have some 'old' SU! cardstock which I haven't used up or had the heart to get rid of.  So while I wait for my new stock to arrive, I decided to make this card with what I have.  The scrapbook papers used are non-Stampin' Up! product.

 

 

The second card I made are all SU! products except for the stamped words.  The design for the card comes from Connie Stewart's flash card series and can be viewed on her blog - Simply Simple Stamping.  The image of the flower is from the retired set Embrace Life.
